1 - Responsibilities:
As our Part-time or Fractional, “Vice-President of Administration and Finance”, you will be entrusted with a wide range of essential tasks:
- Administration: Take charge of all administrative paperwork, including company operations, management, and future planning. Manage high-level administrative and accounting tasks that could optionally be handled by a CPA or a certified corporation administration professional.
- Government-related administration: Handle communications, written documents, company declarations and obligations with Revenu Canada and Revenu Quebec.
- Grant and Tax Credits Applications: Apply for grants and tax credits to secure additional funding for our projects.
- Financial Supervision: Oversee the entire financial cycle, including bookkeeping, categorization, reporting, budgeting, financial forecasting, and more.
- Policy Implementation: Implement and enforce company financial and admin policies and procedures, leveraging your expertise to save valuable time for our President and VP of Operations.
- Staff Management: Manage our administrative staff (3 persons).
- Controller Responsibilities:
- Billing and Accounts Receivable: Supervise client billing and collections to ensure timely payments. Ensure the accuracy of receivables.
- Reporting: Create a reporting dashboard, oversee financial control
- Payments management: Approve payables payments, and enforce a two-votes payment system, up to a specified amount.
- Forecast: Review and update the company's budget.
- Banking Platforms: Utilize RBC Express and BMO commercial platforms for financial transactions.
2 - Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is mandatory.
- Strong financial and administrative background.
- Experience in a similar role
- CPA preferred
- CFA, certified corporate governance professional, financial controller or equivalent - a plus
- Experience in overseeing administrative staff.
- Proficient in working on Excel and general computer skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Communication and reporting skills
- Ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
