Our mission is to combat isolation and poverty among vulnerable seniors in Hastings County by building meaningful inter-generational connections. The goal of our our Senior’s Health and Hair Day is to provide essential care to Seniors and make them feel valued.
We're seeking a conscientious volunteer with a heart for seniors to join our team. If you're passionate about making a difference in your community, and bringing joy to the lives of seniors, we want to hear from you!
Your Impact: As the Seniors’ Health and Hair Day Coordinator, you will be instrumental in providing essential care to seniors, making them feel valued. Your role involves coordinating on-site foot care, hair care, and dental care services, recruiting volunteers for the event, and collaborating on event planning with staff.
Time Commitment:
March – August of 2024 about 2 hours most weeks remotely. Must be present (onsite) for the Seniors’ Health and Hair Day, a one day event on August 10
Your Duties Would Include:
Coordination: Arrange on-site foot care, hair care, and dental care services for seniors. Volunteer Recruitment: Find and coordinate one or two general volunteers for the event.
Cooperation: Working with and under the supervision of the Executive Director as well as working with staff and volunteers
Event Planning: Work with Staff to plan and oversee the “Seniors Health and Hair Day”
Qualifications
Strong communication skills, written and oral
Must be 18 years or older Must have a valid Vulnerable Sector Check
Must be able to work as part of a team
Previous experience working with volunteers and seniors is optimal
