In keeping with the mission and values of the organization as a member of the interdisciplinary team, this position provides assistance and support to the direct client care providers on the unit in a client-focussed environment.
The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate communication and complete the clerical duties essential to the functioning of the nursing unit.
Job Requirements:
Required:
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Previous experience in a health-related setting
- Excellent computer skills in MSOffice word processing and spreadsheet programs
- Ability to utilize Meditech computer and systems
- Demonstrated appreciation and respect for protocol, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Completion of medical terminology course
- Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize the workload and multi-task
- Ability to work efficiently independently and in a teamwork environment
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
Assets:
- Experience transcribing physicians’ orders
- Ward Clerk Certificate or Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate
- Bilingual - English and French
