We are looking for a Website Coordinator to work with our growing team in Communications & Marketing (C&M) department. This role will handle updating our existing websites as well as working on conceptualizing and creating new web experiences for the University. This role reports to the Manager, Web Strategy in C&M.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working collaboratively within the Web Team in Communications & Marketing.
- Working collaboratively with other departments on campus, including Computing & Communications Services (CCS) and other web stakeholders on campus.
- Creating web pages in Drupal 9 that provide an exceptional user experience for target audiences.
- Ensuring websites adhere to AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) guidelines.
- Uploading major content revisions to existing web pages.
- Using pre-built widgets or custom HTML and bootstrap, create page layouts that compliment the content and provide great UX/UI to the user.
- Auditing websites to determine where SEO/AODA/UX/UI enhancements can be made to improve user experience to boost engagement and reduce bounce rate.
- Writing proposals for implementation of new web technologies based on industry trends, new tech available and competitor analysis.
- Occasionally, update WordPress website content and plugins.
- Creating and updating content within SharePoint.
- Creating MS forms.
- Communicating with stakeholders to determine best course of action for reporting data based on their marketing goals.
- Creating Looker Studio dashboards for departmental websites and/or campaign web pages.
- Setting up automatic mailing of dashboards to Director on a weekly basis.
- Working with IT team to implement analytics tools (like Meta Pixel) on departmental websites.
- Producing heatmap screenshots using Microsoft Clarity Live and emailing them to C&M Director on a weekly basis.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- 2-year college diploma in Web Design, Communications, Digital Media, Information design or a related field.
- 18 months related experience in creating and managing content architecture for websites. Must have hands-on experience with web content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal and website administration.
- Ability to write clean HTML and CSS using Bootstrap and CSS Grid, Drupal, WordPress, SharePoint.
- Ability to read and write clean, accessible, semantic code.
- Proficient with Mac or Windows environment.
- Google Analytics certificate an asset.
- Ability to create GA reports with specific KPIs in mind.
- Experience with SEO to enhance Google ranking.
- Experience with AODA guidelines and making web pages accessible.
- UI/UX knowledge and experience in creating strong user journeys.
- Strong communication skills to be able to work with stakeholders at differing levels of web-competency.
- Strong interpersonal skills

- Demonstrated abilities for innovation and problem-solving.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple complex tasks and competing priorities, to meet short deadlines, and maintain the highest standards of quality and attention to detail.
- Ability to grasp and learn new technologies; interest in remaining at the forefront of trends and technologies; willingness to experiment with new ideas and tools.

Normal Hiring Range $25.22 - $28.18 per hour
