What you will be doing:
The Accounting Manager position involves a lot pulling and compiling of accurate data and providing regular feedback on financial results and projects. You will report to the Group Controller and provide financial analysis and reporting to support the dealership in its business operations in relation to financial goals. The role collaborates with the General Manager to create and achieve annual forecasts. You will monitor inventory transactions, reconcile floor-plan financing as maintain a timeline of month-end and year-end activities and prepare financial statements in a timely manner for reporting requirements. As an Accounting Manager you will be required to be diplomatic and assertive with coworkers while being a team player. Reporting and reviewing financial results with General Managers and Controllers to provide guidance, feedback and direction to accounting staff are encompassed in this role. This role expects initiative and the ability to identify and correct areas of improvement and concern.
Job Duties:
- Monitoring company accounts and conducting quarterly reviews
- Punctuality in attendance and reporting deadlines
- Responsible for month-end and all steps necessary including journal entries and accruals to producing accurate and timely financial statements (e.g. balance sheet, P&L statement of cash flows) for the dealership.
- Manage accounts receivables and payables
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Reconcile accounting schedules monthly
- Work with manufacturer to make claims for incentive rebates, report on sales figures and update inventory status
- Maintain accounting files , sales contracts, financing contracts & funding contracts
- Complete administrative and accounting tasks related to the after-purchase cycle of the vehicle
- Management of administration and accounting personnel in the dealerships
- Reviewing and maintaining internal controls, processes and systems
Requirements and attributes:
- strong financial background
- accounting designations and asset
- 5+ years of accounting experience an asset
