Pay: $23/hr - $25/hr
POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounts Payable Specialist is a key member of the Finance team. The AP Specialist is responsible for the processing of supplier invoices and related activities. This a fast-paced environment and the incumbent will need to manage a large volume of work efficiently and effectively. This position works closely with Finance members to maintain the integrity of all financial operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for data entry and coding of invoices and ensure payment of suppliers in a timely manner, including preparation and authorization of invoices.
- Reconciling supplier accounts.
- Scanning and filling of paid invoices.
- Printing of prepared cheques.
- Carrying out month-end procedures and maintaining accurate records.
- Providing support to managers on Accounts Payable related questions/issues.
- Managing the Accounts Payable mailbox, responding to supplier inquiries in a timely manner.
- Updating and ensuring accurate supplier EFT information.
- Reconciling vendor statements and vendor inquiries.
- Entering claims reserves, vendor chargebacks, and offsets.
- Providing support, information and exceptional customer service with respect to AP-related inquiries for both internal and external parties.
- Facilitating accurate financial period cut-offs and calculate accruals.
- Follow up for missing paperwork and work with other departments to resolve issue.
- 1 years AP experience.
- Experience working with multiple branches/locations preferred.
- Experience with accounting software.
- Experience in a similar industry is an asset (warehousing, 3rd party logistics, and/or transportation).
- High school graduate with related post-secondary courses or training.
- Advanced data entry skills with high levels of accuracy.
- Advanced Excel and computer skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude.
- Works well in a team environment and can also work independently.
