Accounts Receivable

Annapolis Valley based Construction Company and Developer are currently seeking an Accounts Receivable /Accounting Position. Based out of Kingston, Nova Scotia, Mid Valley Construction (1997) Limited has been providing quality General Contractor Construction for commercial, government, and civil projects since 1962. We employ approximately 50 people.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Comptroller, you will be responsible for assisting with billings to ensure customer satisfaction and efficiency among operations. Your primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Preparation of Customer invoices; Trucking/Gravel invoices; Monthly maintenance invoices for associated rental companies; Progress Claims for projects (Using excel); Responsible for setting up the jobs in job costing and maintaining the books using Sage Accpac software; Recording receipts and following up with statements and collections. Other responsibilities include builders risk insurance and bond requests, managing registration, and insurance particulars on the fleet of vehicles and abstracts of employees.

Experience & Skills Desired

• University degree in accounting, business or other relevant field preferred.

• At least 2 years experience working in a similar data entry/billing role.

• Experience using Sage Accpac AR and Job Costing.

• Experience with accounting and an understanding of account processes and procedures.

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite in particular Excel.

• Experience working in a construction company/trucking company would be considered an asset.

• Organized and must have exceptional attention to details.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow instructions.

• Ability to work outside of job description/flexible and adaptable.

• Able to obtain required security clearance.

• Valid driver's license.
