We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Receivable and Payable Supervisorto join our team in Bedford, NS.
This is a hands-on supervisory position within our Finance department, overseeing finance operations within the unit. The suitable candidate will be responsible for completing and overseeing Accounts Receivable and accounts payable across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland in addition to maintaining accurate records and financial documentation. They will work closely with the Project Managers (PMs) to ensure their billing and cost forecasting is accurate and ensure sales are issued promptly and accurately to clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist project managers with billing tasks, prepare invoices, coordinate with clients and consultants, monitor collections, and apply payments.
- Sign off on Accounts Payable EFT files weekly.
- Assist with problem related Accounts Payable items including resolving disputes with suppliers/subcontractors.
- Provide oversight to the finance clerks in the department including, performance assessment, scheduling, requests for time off, deliverables and objectives.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Monitor and enforce policies and procedures relevant to accounts payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports as required.
- Participate in accounting meetings.
This position is suitable for someone with an Undergraduate Degree in accounting, finance, or business administration in addition to a minimum of 5 years related experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience). Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
