Role Profile

Position: Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Location: Houston, TX

Job Type: Full-Time

Status: Non-Exempt

Summary of the Role

The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services. Accounts receivable duties include ensuring accuracy and efficiency of operations, processing and monitoring incoming payments, securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts and collections.

Responsibilities

• Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures
• Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording Accounts Receivables data
• Process invoices, matching and analyzing BOL’s for correctness, and scanning the files
• Reconcile the daily AR entries to the bank daily activity to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
• Verify discrepancies for customers and resolve billing issues
• Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
• Perform an analysis on potential new customers and set them up in the system

· Assist Accounting Management with audit preparation and activity

· Performs other general adminsitative duties as needed

Skills and Abilities

• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
• Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software
• Proficiency in English and in MS Office
• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

· Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in accounting a plus
• High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree in a related field a plus
