The Opportunity:
This role is based at our Point Tupper Generating Station, and you are required to be on-site for this role.
We are currently looking for an Administrative Assistant IV to join our Power Production – Point Tupper Generating & Port Hawkesbury Biomass teams in a permanent position. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for providing a high level of administrative support to our professional team at Point Tupper Generating Plant & Port Hawkesbury Biomass Plant.
Key elements of this role include::The ideal Administrative Assistant IV will:
- You will prepare monthly reports and perform other general administrative support duties.
- You will be responsible for interacting with staff, accountable for sorting mail, tracking/reporting/follow up on current programs and metrics, word processing, maintaining bulletin boards, organizing our safety program, filing, and ordering office supplies.
- You will process payroll entry, invoices, requisitions, and purchase orders.
- You must possess initiative, an appreciation for confidentiality, a strong work ethic and a dedication to quality.
- You will be required to perform at a high level of competency and independence.
You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
These skills will make you successful::- You have a Grade XII education or equivalent, office administration training.
- A minimum of 3 – 5 years of administrative support experience.
- You have a good working knowledge of various software packages (i.e. Word, Excel, MS Project, Invoice Express and Oracle).
- Accounting and/or knowledge of statistics would be a definite asset.
- You have a thorough knowledge of current office procedures and have proficient typing and computer utilization skills.
- You must demonstrate your commitment to personal development.
- You have effective communication and organizational skills.
- You are a self-starter who has the willingness and ability to learn new processes and will become competent in the applications required for this position.
- You have strong analytical and quantitative skills and are attentive to detail.
- You are a team player and possess strong interpersonal skills.
