Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking an Administrator, Document Controlto work out of our mill site near Athabasca, AB. The successful candidate is responsible for supporting, implementing and administering Al-Pac-wide document management systems and related procedures that allows the capture, storage, retrieval, sharing, and destruction of electronic records, as well as, Regulatory and Compliant Records.

Role Responsibilities

  • Audit and Review: Work within Al-Pac’s established document and audit control systems to deliver specified outcomes and/or provide general support. Update and maintain current reporting and required documents with Local Jurisdiction.
  • Compliance: Identify shortcomings in Al-Pac’s Document Control compliance processes, systems and procedures, and develop ad hoc solutions to problems within an assigned unit or discipline.
  • Quality: Assist and support Al-Pac management to implement Document Control quality assurance change initiatives and/or make continuous operational improvements.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collaborate and analyse data using pre-set tools, methods and formats. Involves working independently.
  • Administration: Produce, update and provide best Document Control practice support on documents, databases and other departmental systems to support the work of more senior colleagues. Tasks could include purchasing materials, entering budgetary information, time and expense recording and similar.
  • Coordination: Safety Relief Valve Coordinator during all major shutdowns and outages.

Role Requirements

  • A Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Administration, Business Management, or in another related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Documentation Management role or experience working in a similar role.
  • 2 – 3+ years’ experience with Document Control software, process map software, FTP clients, SharePoint and FileNet.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).
  • Strong comprehension of engineering and project documentation.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) is considered an asset.
  • Document Control Certification is considered an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time well, multitask and troubleshoot.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, with changing priorities, deadlines, and to readily adapt to change.
  • Accuracy in processing.
  • Knowledge and skill in meeting deadlines with multiple documents.
  • Ability to work under pressure, changing priorities, deadlines, and adapt to change.
  • Ability to conduct and work with outside contactors on required data and reporting.
