CDE Engineering Ltd. is a privately owned Calgary-based full-service engineering firm. We specialize in providing engineering procurement and construction management services for Canada's energy sector, focusing on the upstream and midstream segments of the oil and gas industry.
Role Description:
CDE is currently seeking a Document Controller to assume responsibility for providing crucial support to both the Document Control Department and the Engineering Department.
Document Controller will ensure all project documentation is effectively managed, controlled, and distributed to support the successful execution of engineering projects. This role plays a critical part in maintaining project integrity, regulatory compliance, and efficient collaboration among project stakeholders.

- Document Controller Lead
- Project Managers
Main Responsibilities:
- Document Management: Maintain a structured system for organizing and storing engineering documents, drawings, specifications, and other project-related materials
- Document Control Procedures: Enforce document control procedures and standards to ensure consistency and compliance with industry regulations and company policies
- Revision Control: Track revisions and updates to documents, ensuring that the most current versions are readily available to team members
- Document Distribution: Manage the distribution of documents to appropriate stakeholders, both internally and externally, ensuring that the right people have access to the right information
- Document Tracking: Keep detailed records of document status, including approvals, reviews, and changes, to maintain a clear audit trail
- Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other team members to facilitate document-related communication and workflow
- Archiving: Develop a system for archiving and preserving historical project documents for future reference or compliance purposes
Required Qualifications:
- 0 - 2 years experience in Document Management
- High School Diploma
- Post-secondary training in document management, office administration, or related technical discipline is preferred
- Proven ability to produce high quality work while facing competing priorities and strict deadlines
- Ability to prioritize activities, adapt to change, and stay focused in a dynamic environment
- Proficient in Bluebeam, MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate sensitivity and discretion when working with confidential information
