Job Summary
Bring your expertise in organization and prioritization to this exciting Project Coordinator position
The Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship is accountable for integrated land and natural resource management, including objective setting for land and marine environments, effectively managing cumulative effects, and advancing reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, environmental sustainability, and economic resiliency.
This position provides project management coordination functions for a variety of large scale complex projects throughout the project management life-cycle (i.e. initiation, planning, execution, control and close-out). In addition, is directly accountable for assigned portions (e.g., sub projects) of larger projects as a project team member.
To be successful in this role, you are highly organized and capably prioritize and manage your workload to meet deadlines, using your outstanding eye for detail to ensure all work is carried out to a high standard. You are an effective communicator, able to successfully establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of partners and demonstrate initiative and good judgement in applying procedures within established policies and guidelines.
Job Requirements:
• Diploma in public administration, business administration, or natural resource management; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience multi-tasking, often in demanding and fast-paced environments.
• Experience with various computer applications, including Microsoft Office programs, Outlook and database applications.
• Experience communicating effectively, both orally and in writing with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.
• At least one year of experience in project management coordination.
Preference may be given to applicants who have:
• Experience providing project management support to a multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience engaging with stakeholders on a project.
• Training in project management.
• A post-secondary diploma or degree in the field of natural resource management.
• Experience working in a collaborative stewardship forum.
• Experience engaging collaboratively with First Nations and Provincial representatives.

About this Position:
There is one (1) permanent, full time position currently available.
This position can be based in Smithers, Terrace, or Burns Lake.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work two (2) or more days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
