As an Application Analyst, Land Management System (LMS), you will play a key role in the configuration and modification of the workflow used in Planning and Development Services (PDS) and the Land Management process for the City of Calgary. You will be responsible for configuring the City's Land Management permitting system, developing and designing innovative solutions to complex business problems across the Land Management process and other City services that interact with that process. Primary duties include:
- Design and implement end to end solutions that improve the Land Management System for the City of Calgary.
- Collaborate with business leads and subject matter experts to provide effective solution that resolve customer pain points and move business objectives forward.
- Identify data quality issues, ensuring procedures and validations are in place to promote the quality of information stored in the systems.
- Working in an Agile - DevOps environment. Anticipate, investigate, and identify business improvement opportunities and solution refactors that continuously improves the system.
- Develop, maintain, and re-engineer system artifacts (workflow, information models', sequence diagrams) that describe the Land Management and its integrations.
- Liaison with Information Technology (IT) and vendors to extend Land Management solutions with integrations and customization.
Qualifications
- A completed 2 year diploma in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Urban Planning, or a related diploma with at least 5 years related experience in quality assurance, software development or application support supporting enterprise applications; OR
- A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or a related degree with at least 3 years related experience in quality assurance, software development, or application support supporting enterprise applications.
- Experience or certification in Master Data Management (MDM), Workflow design, or Business Process Management (BPM) will be considered assets.
- General proficiency in Oracle SQL and database query tools, Reporting tools and Python programming are considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on delivering information to internal and external clients in a professional manner.
- Able to quickly learn business rules, policy, regulations, and bylaws as well as business system capabilities.
- Strong problem solving, design and analytical skills.
