Frontier Street Pharmacy is looking to hire a new Front Store Assistant Manager to join and lead a team of Front Store staff. The Front Store Assistant Manager must oversee all operations linked to customer care, sales, merchandise management, inventory and Human Resources management activities. The manager must manage and supervise the team under his or her responsibility. He or she must ensure the proper functioning of the store’s activities and must set the example in customer care.
Responsibilities
Customer Care
- Ensure that the customer care quality provided by store employees meets pharmacy standards.
- Resolve customer complaints and requests for merchandise returns.
- Actively listen to suggestions and comments from customers.
- Settle internal and external shoplifting cases with the firm accredited for this purpose.
- Visit the sections, establish priority lists, delegate tasks and monitor their performance.
- Coordinate the placement of regular and special displays according to the provided planograms and ensure a sufficient amount of merchandise on the shelves.
- Ensure compliance with labelling and pricing display standards at all times and ensure pricing changes using the Point of Sale system (POS).
- Ensure free circulation in the aisles, shopping basket availability, along with section and warehouse maintenance.
Merchandise Control
- Prevent losses by raising employee awareness regarding proper product handling measures and task performance methods.
- Ensure regular product rotation and expiry date monitoring.
- Delegate or order merchandise with consideration for previous sales results and/or budgetary forecasts and special customer requests using the Point of Sale system (POS).
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels on the sales floor and in the warehouse.
- Establish a control system for incoming and outgoing merchandise to prevent losses.
- Meet representatives to conduct special, promotional and seasonal purchases.
- Ensure that merchandise returns are carried out.
- Plan merchandise closing sales, along with regular and seasonal purchases.
- Open and close the store according to control and monitoring procedures.
Employee Management
- Enforce and comply with various labour laws (e.g., health and safety, labour standards, etc.).
- Hire, integrate and train employees according to staff needs.
- Prepare work schedules according to operational needs.
- Determine employee tasks.
- Periodically assess the performance of employees and follow up on their developmental needs.
- Implement disciplinary measures, where needed.
- Communicate all relevant information to employees regarding sales objectives, new products, new procedures and services offered.
- Mobilize employees by directing their efforts end energy toward common objectives to create a harmonious work environment.
