Summary
Position: Associate Producer – CTV National News
Location: 9 Channel Nine Court, Scarborough
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required.
Responsibilities
Working under direction of the Executive Producer and Senior Producers of CTV National News, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Various editorial and newsroom tasks as required by the Executive Producer or their delegate
Assisting the Domestic and Foreign Assignment Editors, as required
Assisting the Executive Producer, Senior Producer and Producers of CTV National News as required
Overseeing the editing of voiceovers and reporter items for air
Monitoring the production flow for National News
Working directly with editors/playback operators and the director
Coordinating work flow between National News writers and editors
Ensuring accuracy and quality control of visual elements for show
Coordinating on air between feed and play/director and show producer
Assisting writers/producers in accessing specific visuals
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years of newsroom experience
Journalism or broadcast degree
Solid understanding of digital news requirements and ability to work with multiple platform needs and requests
Highly organized
Excellent spoken and written communication skills
Excellent knowledge of current events
Ability to juggle competing priorities simultaneously on deadline
Ability to take direction from Producers
Excellent computer skills
Familiarity with iNews

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
