The Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Team Lead is responsible for leading CADD initiatives to maintain and improve internal efficiencies and customer service provided to City-wide clients. Primary duties include:
- Research best practices and recommend new products, service lines, processes and improvements to service delivery (for example: the creation of a common repository of drawings and prioritization and management of the license structure).
- Provide technical support to City-wide users of Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) such as graphic systems analysis and programming, software and tools.
- Lead and participate in projects and initiatives that include defining project objectives and deliverables.
- Create work plans that include timelines, capital and operating budgets and leading project staff.
- Supervision of technical positions.
- A completed 2 year diploma in a geospatial related program and at least 8 years of engineering graphics technology, geospatial mapping experience or related; OR
- A degree in Business, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering (Geomatics), Computer Science or related and at least 4 years of engineering graphics technology, geospatial mapping experience or related.
- Certification in project management or a project management designation (for example: PMP) will be considered assets.
- The ability to collaborate to achieve common goals, balance competitive priorities and work as a leader.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
