Our Calgary office is looking for a Team Lead + Paralegal to join our Corporate Services department. This role will report directly to the Partners responsible for the department and HR. This role leads a team, will work with a variety of our firm's members and be responsible for completing a variation of corporate transactions, including but not limited to general search and registration services, incorporations, share structure amendments, share transactions, transfers, redemptions, amalgamations, and director and officer changes.

Duties + Responsibilities
Team Lead Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary contact for department questions and work assignments.
- Approving and coordinating vacation for the team members.
- Conduct team meetings, one on one meetings, and yearly performance reviews.
- Coaching and mentoring team members.
- Identify priorities and manage team workloads.
Paralegal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Incorporate and organize Alberta and Federal corporations, societies, and not-for-profit companies.
- Assist lawyers with amalgamations, arrangements, reorganizations, and amendments.
- Registration of limited partnerships, domestic and extra-provincial.
- Preparation of dividend resolutions.
- Minute book review.
- Entering entities in a corporate database and document management system.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Timekeeping.
- A high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
Qualifications + Skills
- Completion of a paralegal diploma or certificate with a minimum of 8 years' experience as a corporate paralegal.
- 2 + years of team Supervisor and Mentorship experience.
- Experience in all aspects of corporate work required, APRES, Alberta CORES III work and accreditation is preferred.
- Advanced computer skills, specifically with PDF and MS Word.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with a corporate database is such as ALF is an asset.
- Dedicated to continued process improvement.
Working Conditions
- Normal weekday office hours (35).
- Hybrid work arrangement, minimum 3 days per week in the Calgary office.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
