Humana is seeking Casual and Part-Time Direct Care Workers!

Compensation: $21.41/hour and $3 per hour enhancement, plus 2.5% in lieu of benefits

Location: Strathroy, ON

Schedule: Varied rotating shifts; including evenings, weekends, overnights, and public holidays

Roles & Responsibilities:

• This position involves working in a short-term live-in treatment setting - a 24/7 site providing day-to-day support to youth
• Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships and attend to the diverse needs of youth
• Provide a safe and supportive environment for participants; intervene, remain calm and focused in crisis situations while utilizing effective de-escalation and decision-making skills

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Human, Community and/or Social Services (e.g., SSW, CYC)
• Minimum two (2) years of related experience is preferred
• Demonstrated understanding of support requirements specific to the roles and responsibilities of the job
• Proficiency in both verbal and written communication
• Strong organization, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, in addition to attention to detail while multi-tasking
• Ability to work collaboratively with the team, and independently as necessary
• Capacity to establish, implement, and maintain professional, and personal boundaries
• Multilingualism and having diverse lived experiences are considered assets
• Valid Class G (full) Driver’s License with a 3-year Uncertified Driver Record (mandatory)
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check with Humana listed as the employer (mandatory)
• Physical Health assessment: verification of up-to-date immunizations, COVID vaccination status (2 doses), and ability to meet the physical requirements of the position (mandatory)
• Current Standard First Aid & CPR (mandatory), Level C with AED training preferred
