Compensation: $21.47/hour regular wages + $3/hour government enhancement; Plus vacation pay; 2.5% in lieu of benefits & Health Care Spending Account upon completion of probation
Location: Exeter, ON
Schedule: varied rotating shifts; including evenings, weekends, overnights, and public holidays

Summary of Roles & Responsibilities:
- Working in an assisted-living environment providing 24/7 support to adults with developmental disabilities
- Support person-centred programming by ensuring that the individual needs of people are met on a daily basis (medical, personal, physical, financial, hygienic, social, recreational, emotional, developmental), and provide the best quality of life while in compliance with legislated requirements and company policies and procedures
- Facilitate and support community engagement and recreational endeavours
- Provide a wide range of physical/personal care utilizing specialized equipment (i.e., mechanical lifts, feeding tubes, wheelchair)
- Communicate appropriately and effectively with non-verbal participants and ensure their needs and desires are being addressed
- Work successfully with diverse groups and demonstrate commitment to principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human, Community, and/or Social Services (e.g., SSW, DSW, Social Sciences)
- Minimum one (1) year of related experience supporting people with developmental disabilities and medical needs in short- or long-term living settings
- Reliable with a demonstrated commitment to being a dependable member of a team
- Demonstrated understanding of requirements specific to the roles and responsibilities of the job
- Strong leadership, rapport-building, mentorship, advocacy, organization, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, in addition to attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team (internal and external), and independently as necessary
- Capacity to establish, implement, and maintain professional, and personal boundaries
- Multilingualism and having diverse lived experiences are considered assets
- Valid Class G (full) Driver’s License with a 3-year Uncertified Driver Record (mandatory)
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check with Humana listed as the employer (mandatory)
- Physical Health assessment: verification of up-to-date immunizations, COVID vaccination status (2 doses), and ability to meet the physical requirements of the position (mandatory)
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR (mandatory), Level C with AED training preferred
