Primary Purpose
To support the human resources team with administrative tasks related to the labour validation project. This includes working with the human resources and finance departments.
This position is a temporary casual position, part-time for 20-30 hours per week with the
possibility of full-time hours.
Start date: As soon as possible
End date: February 16, 2024, with the possibility of extension
Pay: $21/hour
Nature of Work
This position works in the Human Resources department and provides Administrative Support to the human resources team. The nature of the work is confidential. The individual must always be discrete and conscious of what is said and how it may be perceived. The individual must also comply with privacy legislation and ensure rules around access to information are maintained.
Accountabilities
1. Assist with process mapping work processes in HR
2. Coordinate meetings and schedules related to the labour validation project
3. Prepare documentation as requested, prepare notes
4. Provide front desk support including responding to walk-ins or phone calls
5. Data entry and comfortable accessing information in the HR system
6. Documenting standard operating procedure or work instructions
7. Meet and work with stakeholders
8. Participate in MRU training opportunities
9. Environmental health and safety: Ensure all work conducted is in compliance with the
Government of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation and practices; know
of and adhere to MRU safety systems, policies, procedures and safe work guidelines.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an office setting is an asset
- Previous experience and/or education in human resources or equivalent is an asset
- Comfortable working in word documents and spreadsheets
- Good writing and communication skills
