Supervisor 1 – Supervises less than 7 employees and can be in program for 50-100% of the day and counted in ratio
Supervisor 2 – Supervises 7 or more full time employees is not in the program at all as a scheduled staff required for ratio

Program
- Ensure that programs have plans and activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of children in the program.
- Supervise and assist employees in: developing plans, providing nutritious snacks and lunches and guiding/assisting children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
- Develop programs and activities that follow the Program Statement and Implementation policies
- Provide support and direction to employees regarding child development, How Does Learning Happen Document and the CCEYA.
- Maintain a welcoming, safe and healthy environment for children and their parents or caregivers.
- Regularly contact, liaise with and act as a resource for parents and caregivers; keeping parents informed of program expectations, program activities and their child's progress.
- Discuss progress or problems of children with staff members in order to determine plans for improvement or arrange for supporting services.
- Ensure that employees are completing observations and using screening tools with the children.
- Ensure children are supervised at all times
- Provide coverage for absent employees if required.
- Respond to Parent enquires regarding their site
- Maintain children’s calendars based on the contract for care in the childcare management platform
- Assist in maintaining monthly attendance reports for their site.
- Create and maintain emergency cards for children at their site.
- Receive and record fees.
- Prepare monthly Newsletter, book orders or Fundraising Materials for their site.
- Conduct and log Monthly Fire Drills and any emergency drills required by the school.
- Ensure all fire, water and playground reports and binders are kept up to date
- Conducts annual employee performance reviews.
- Maintain provincial standards and regulations and keep up to date with current child care philosophy.
- Attend meetings and workshops to develop and discuss new teaching methods.
- Promote a positive image of the daycare program to the public.
- Develop and maintain current, accurate and confidential client files.
- Be familiar with all Ridge K.I.D.S. emergency procedures.
- Ensure that equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained and safe at all times.
- Other duties shall be assigned as required.
- Must meet all MEDU requirements for a RECE.
- Two years’ childcare experience
- Current Standard CPR and First Aid Certificates
- Current VPSC and Offence Declaration.
- Strong understanding of the CCEYA
- Good understanding of “How Does Learning Happen”
- Proven ability to successfully work with children and their parents in a sensitive, effective and professional manner.
- Strong working knowledge of child development theories and practices.
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail required.
- Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong morals and ethics, sound judgement and reasoning skills, along with a commitment to discretion and staff privacy.
- Proven ability to successfully work with employees in a supportive, sensitive, effective and professional manner.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Physically able to perform all assigned tasks.
