Overview:
The Instructor provides an enriching learning environment for students by using holistic and career-oriented teaching methods. By maintaining an organized and structured classroom environment, the Instructor helps ensure that students are progressing effectively. The administration of assignments, tests, projects and exams will help students stay engaged and provide the Instructor with an accurate gauge of student success. The Instructor works under the guidance and supervision of the Department of Academic Affairs at the College. The position is a "Day Time" teaching position which requires you to have previous teaching experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Teach RN/RPN courses
- Plan, prepare and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture and/or laboratory format based on the approved curricula
- Ability to plan, prepare course content and develop curriculum (course outlines, teaching plans, presentations, etc.)
- Teach healthcare topics to unlicensed nursing students.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other professionals to refine program content and provide lessons in professional responsibility.
- Assigns, guides, supervises, and evaluates student’s performance.
- Participate in faculty/staff meetings, committee meetings, professional development workshops, graduation ceremonies, and other school functions as requested
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- A minimum of one year's teaching experience in a post-secondary Diploma level program;
- A minimum of 3 years’ nursing industry experience;
- Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level;
- Strong network of contacts with other professionals, organizations and employers;
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrable ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students;
- Committed to excellence in teaching and learning and must have previous learning experiences
Experience:
- Teaching: 1 year (preferred)
- Nursing industry: 3 years (preferred)
