Duties:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet the needs of students learning English as a second language.
- Provide instruction in English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to engage students and promote active learning.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love of learning and promotes cultural understanding.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student success and address individual student needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
Experience:
- Experience working with students who are learning English as a second language, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Familiarity with preschool, special education, or literacy education is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Knowledge of effective teaching strategies for English language learners.
- Experience working with children or adults in an educational or childcare setting is beneficial.
