The Open Doors is recruiting a full-time Community Helpers Program Coordinator. This full-time position is temporary, with a possibility of moving into a different position within the organization when the term is complete.
Community Helpers is a targeted Alberta Health Services suicide prevention program that is for youth and adults ages 12 and over (primarily between the ages of 12-30). It is delivered in both school and community settings, and enhances community capacity for mental health through an assets based approach.
Some evening and weekend shifts may be required, but most hours will take place during the day from Monday to Friday.
Ideally, the coordinator will have a minimum of:
A related undergraduate degree (e.g. Social Work, Education, Human Service degree);
2-3 years of relevant experience;
Experience with recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers;
Experience promoting and building awareness about wellness initiatives;
Strong public speaking skills, interpersonal skills, and communication skills;
Experience delivering defined curriculum to a variety of group sizes;
Experience in group facilitation; and,
Experience monitoring and measuring program development.
