Your Opportunity:
Reporting into the EMS Logistics and Support Supervisory Team, the incumbent’s main objective is to coordinate facility maintenance, coordinate EMS front line communication device support and provide uniform support to the entire EMS North Zone. Daily responsibilities include receiving, processing and following up on zone maintenance requests, liaising with EMS Clinical Operations and EMS Dispatch to coordinate communication device exchanges and facilitating repairs with AHS vendors and working closely with the Provincial Uniform Supervisor and the provincial uniform team based out of the Calgary uniform warehouse. The incumbent will ensure existing processes are followed for receiving, processing and following up on facility maintenance requests, ensure communication device repair procedures are followed, along with meticulous tracking and maintaining of inventory levels for all EMS Dispatch front line communications devices. The incumbent is the subject matter expert in the area of EMS Facility & Communication device support and will possess a strong understanding of EMS workflow processes for all five zones. Travel is necessary within an assigned zone and provincially, as required. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As a Coordinator, you will ensure that the EMS ambulance fleet, medical equipment & supply and emergency response stations meet provincial Standards and regulations as determined by Alberta Health and Wellness, and by AHS Quality and Patient Safety as reflected in the AHS EMS Medical Control Protocols. You will be the technical expert in these areas and will possess a strong understanding of EMS workflow processes across all five Provincial Operational Zones. Your typical duties include working with Operations and AHS Vendors to maintain and repair the EMS fleet of vehicles, supply & distribution of EMS uniforms, EMS facility maintenance, medical equipment and medical supplies inventory and distribution.

Completion of an Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) accredited program. Active registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP). Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six (6) demerits.
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to participate in semiannual ride along with EMS Operations. Lift up to 80lbs, bend and twist as required. Participate in emergency trauma or medical event response as required.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants with the following qualifications, familiarity and/or proven experience: Project management; Communication equipment troubleshooting; SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite; eFacilities & Service Now ticketing programs; ICS 100/200/300; Strong organizational & communication (verbal and written) skills. Knowledge of AHS EMS radio infrastructure and processes. Knowledge of AHS EMS uniform procurement, processes.
