Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a Coordinator, Silviculture to work out of our mill site near Athabasca, AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for all activities and reporting requirements related to Government regulations for the reforestation of crown lands within the company’s Forest Management Area (FMA).

Role Responsibilities
· Liaises with third party consultants as well as internal and external stakeholders to meet the company’s reforestation requirements.
· Collaborates with Government personnel to obtain plan approval and works with local quota holders to integrate plans where appropriate.
· Responsible for tracking all costs and reporting (internal and government) related costs to the company’s reforestation liability.
· Works closely with the Silviculture Forester in all activities within Al-Pac’s Silviculture program, Al-Pac’s reforestation liability and associated treatment regimes.
· Has knowledge of all applicable government regulations related to Silviculture and the operation of forestry activities on crown lands.
· Negotiates, administers, and executes contracts – integrating industry clients and Al-Pac operations.
· Work includes both field and office duties as required to meet Al-Pac’s Silviculture program requirements.
Role Requirements
· Post-secondary degree or diploma in Forest Management, Environmental Resource Management, or equivalent to obtain a designation as an RPF or RPFT.
· Experience as a Silviculture Forester is preferred; knowledge & experience in working within the Forestry sector.
· Must have a valid driver’s license (GDL removed) with an acceptable driving history.
· Working knowledge of the Provincial regulatory approval systems.
· Abilities in stakeholder engagement including government and indigenous relations.
· Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
· Adept with change management.
· Excellent computer skills include data management and analysis to meet company & regulatory requirements.
· Excellent organization, negotiating, and interpersonal skills.
· Strong communication skills, both written and oral, including presentations.
· Demonstrated commitment to ongoing leadership and professional development.
· Comfortable with flexible work hours and extensive travel commitments.
· Team player with the ability to work within and across teams as well as having the ability to work independently when required.
