Job description

We are a dynamic Web Design and Digital Marketing agency specializing in WordPress development, SEO, and comprehensive online marketing strategies. Our team delivers innovative, effective solutions for small to mid-sized businesses. As we continue to grow and evolve, we’re looking to expand our Digital Marketing team.

We are a company that thrives by all being committed to the bigger picture. We meet virtually multiple times per week, and we communicate with each other on Slack daily. Our office hours are 9 AM to 5 PM with some flexibility when needed. No two days are the same, and you should be comfortable with shifting priorities as requests come up.

*** Although the company is fully remote, we will be giving preference to candidates who live within the Brockville area or are comfortable commuting to Brockville on a regular basis; sometimes with only 24-48 hours' notice. Please note that this is a hard requirement as we have 1-3 in-person meetings each month. ***

This position will begin as part-time (hourly), with the intention of growing into a full-time (salary) opportunity for the right individual. Remuneration will be based on your experience and capabilities, with raises based on regular performance reviews.

Position Overview:

In this role, you will be assisting the Digital Marketing Specialist by executing a variety of tasks for our clients. Since this role is new, we are seeking someone who is keen to learn and grow along with the position. The sky is the limit as the demand for these services has been growing at a steady pace, and we’re excited to bring on board anyone who wants to see where this can take them long-term.

Due to the sensitive nature of having administrative access to client websites, social media profiles, and more – in addition to the nature of working from home – you must be reliable and be able to provide assurances by having a secure network and computer, along with a comfortable, distraction-free workspace/office within your home. Equipment is not provided, however, perks include annual tech and education reimbursements.

While previous experience in all marketing areas is a bonus, we're most interested in candidates who can confidently demonstrate expertise in at least 1 of the key areas listed below - along with a willingness to jump into and learn the rest.

Key Skills:

  • Experience or a keen interest in completing Digital Marketing tasks for local businesses looking to grow.
  • Ability and willingness to approach each task with consideration and a thorough understanding of each client’s requirements and goals.
  • Comfortable working with, or willing to learn, WordPress to complete work on clients’ websites.
  • Basic HTML and CSS knowledge for creating/updating webpages or editing blog templates (not a hard requirement, but would be beneficial).
  • Demonstrate a general understanding of UI/UX web design and best practices (including optimizing for desktop, tablet, and mobile) with a primary focus on Campaign Landing Pages.
  • An understanding of what Search Engine Optimization is and how it works (bonus if you have experience in completing tasks specifically for SEO; with the use of tools such as SEMrush, AIOSEO and/or Yoast plugins).
  • Confident in assessing data points (GA4, Buffer Analytics, Ad Campaign statistics, etc.) to make decisions and propose or execute necessary changes.
  • Familiarity with Ad platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, Google) and the various types of ads and when it’s appropriate to use which type.
  • Willingness to train and use ChatGPT channels to create content for clients.

Key Areas:

  • Social Media Posting: Planning and posting content for clients. Includes graphic creation, copywriting, hashtag research, and scheduling posts. (Facebook, LinkedIn, GBP, etc.)
  • Email Marketing: Creating engaging and action-driving email campaigns and automated journeys using Mailchimp.
  • Blog Writing: Researching trending headlines and questions, and creating informative and valuable content that is finetuned for SEO.
  • Campaign Landing Pages: Creating engaging and action-driving landing pages that serve the needs of each marketing initiative.
  • Ads Setup and Management: Completing the full setup (asset creation, copywriting) of Ads on Meta, LinkedIn, and Google; as most appropriate to the campaign focus. Be responsible for monitoring its progress over time, continuing with recommended optimization efforts, and changing assets when needed.
  • Search Engine Optimization: Completing Keyword Research & Competitor Comparisons with analysis, creating or editing content to hit benchmarks to rank each page, monitoring Rankings and making changes when appropriate, checking on backlinks, running Site Audits and completing technical fixes as needed.
