About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Director of Medical Affairs, the Director of Physician Learning, Development and Support will lead the development and delivery of medical staff supports within Nova Scotia Health. This position will act as a strategic advisor to medical affairs leadership through provision of expert advice regarding all non-clinical physician education, professional practice, quality improvement initiatives and leadership opportunities.
The incumbent will work collaboratively with NSH medical leadership to identify areas supporting physician education, professional development, leadership, and practice support with the goal to foster a robust continuing organizational educational framework and develop a performance and leadership development program. The role fosters innovation throughout the organization by contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, diversity and inclusion, accountability, and professional development.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
-Graduate degree in adult education or administration (M.Ad.Ed/MHA/MPA/or MBA)
-Minimum 3 years of recent and relevant adult education or administrative leadership experience with progressive accountabilities required; preferably within a healthcare environment
-Demonstrated excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to independently lead projects and/or initiatives;
-Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders.
-Evidence-based collaborative problem solving of complex multifaceted issues within the context of provincial policies and procedures;
-Critical thinking and analytical problem solving;
-Expertise in leading complex change;
-Strong presentation and public speaking skills that are responsive to audience needs;
-Demonstrated advanced communications skills/positive energetic public persona;
-Cultural competence.
-Collaboration, negotiation and persuasion skills are paramount as this role requires the engagement of physicians and other internal/external stakeholders
-Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks.
-Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
-Permanent, full-time position, 75 hrs bi-weekly
Compensation and Incentives
$52.08 - $65.10 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
