Team & Job Overview
The Mid-Market Group is looking for a dynamic and results-oriented leader with a passion for customer service and business development to fill the role of District Manager – Edmonton. Reporting to the Regional Vice-President, the District Manager will be leading, coaching, and mentoring a team of Account Managers and Senior Account Managers located in these markets.
Our District Manager will:
Lead the team in the development of strategies to retain existing customers and enhance the impact EDC has with these customers.
Lead the team in the origination of new customers.
Proactively develop and maintain relationships with senior and executive level contacts from across: the customer portfolio, prospective new customers, the banking community, Federal & Provincial partners, and other key stakeholders across the trade ecosystem.
Contribute to the development of the district and regional market strategy and business plan.

Creates international trade focused business development opportunities with an existing portfolio of commercial segment companies across a spectrum of industry sectors.
Identifies, originates, develops, and closes business development opportunities with new companies.
Builds and maintains effective long-term strategic relationships with existing and prospective customers, key partners, stakeholders, and industry associations.
Gathers and shares market intelligence across various sectors through external interactions with banks, exporters, industry associations and others to develop new opportunities and inform new services and solutions customized to meet the needs of the market.
Key Responsibilities
Leads the identification, creation, and development of new business opportunities with high business impact with both current and potential clients.
Leads a team to deliver results in collaboration with internal partners.
Facilitates the origination of new business through direct prospecting and through partners.
Actively promotes sector/market opportunities by communicating strategies and initiatives to internal partners and external clients and partners.
Leads the development and execution of functional business strategies and policies.
Leads the performance and skill/career development of their team to ensure the capacity and capability to address the needs of the organization.
Provides effective recruiting, staffing, career development planning, recognition, and rewards.
Screening Criteria
Completed an Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance or in a related field.
Minimum 7 years of business development experience in international business and/or financial services, or related experience.
Proven leadership skills and experience to effectively delegate, coach and motivate team members.
Advanced knowledge of sales and strategic client management best practices.
Assets
MBA, CFA or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Knowledge of bank credit and financing practices - can facilitate EDC solutions through the banking channel - both domestic and internationally.
Bilingual in both official languages (English and French). *

$109,700 - $164,500 + performance-based incentive
