Our Canadian operations expanded with a 170,000 square foot fiberglass manufacturing facility on a 148 acres site in Bath, Loyalist Township in Ontario, Canada! This new facility will enable us to more effectively and efficiently serve markets in the eastern half of Canada, as well as the Northeast and upper Midwest of the United States, producing pools for its fiberglass brands including Latham and Narellan Pools. Production began in April 2023.
We are looking for a full-time, SEASONED (5+ yrs experience)Environmental, Health and Safety Leader to join our rapidly growing business in Kingston, ON. Reporting to the Regional EHS Manager (dotted line to Plant Manager), you will be leader of the Safety Systems and play a critical role in ensuring our processes and practices in our EHS system are followed throughout every aspect of the business.
What you will do:
- Coordinate with site team to implement the EHS Program and respective policies.
- Audit effectiveness of the site EHS program through audit program including annual corporate audit.
- Provide EHS training to all site personnel.
- Maintain all pertinent safety and environmental records.
- WSIB claims management and investigate incidents.
- Generates internal and external reports as necessary.
- Execute site inspection program with respect to safety and environmental regulations.
- Accompany provincial, federal, and local inspectors from various agencies.
- Act as local expert on EHS requirements, providing guidance and working closely with site leadership team.
- May support corporate / nationwide EHS projects.
The ideal candidate will:
- BS in Safety/ Science/Engineering and 3 years manufacturing experience is preferred or GED with 10 years safety, Quality or related experience.
- Level II Joint Health and Safety Committee certified.
- Certified First Aid attendant or willing to become one.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, and / or regulatory agencies.
- Experience with compliance management in a manufacturing facility that operates in Ontario
- Experience in managing a full Respiratory Protection Program.
- Familiarity with Mobile Crane Safety and Powered Industrial Truck safety.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, set up/maintain files, generate reports as requested, and set and reach goals.
- Ability to effectively present information in both oral and written form.
- Ability to keep accurate records
- Proficient in presentations and training in front of an audience
- Proficient with the computer including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
