The Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for providing general administrative support to the Environmental Health and Safety Department
What you will be doing
- Maintains the Contractor Management System by ensuring all contractor information and documents are up to date (liability insurance, WSIB clearance certificates, safety statistics).
- Responsible for tracking and reporting on the Total Recordable Injury Rate (TRIR) and other EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
- Assist in the facilitation of orientation for new hires.
- Assist in and report on accident investigations.
- Maintenance of the electronic integrated management system (IMS) including filing OHSA policies, standards, procedures, forms, and records (document control).
- Performs general administrative duties for the EH&S department, including but not limited to:
a. Maintain the stock of the first aid and general office supplies.
b. Coordinating the meetings for the Joint Health and Safety and Accident Review Committee. Responsible for taking minutes and communicating to relevant stakeholders.
c. General filing, ordering supplies and data entry.
d. Maintaining the Health & Safety board
- Policies, Processes & Procedures
a. Adhere/comply with company policies and procedures.
b. Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of the employee health and safety recognition program to promote environment, health and safety topics of interest and to continue to encourage safe work practices and behaviours.
What you will bring
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field required
- Working knowledge of knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety
- Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and all other workplace H&S regulations;
- Team-player with the ability to interact professionally with internal and
- external stakeholders;
- Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities;
- Ability to work / excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to
- detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;
- General Computer Skills (e.g. MS Office, Excel);
