RENTAL / COUNTER CLERK
A busy Westshore EQUIPMENT RENTAL company is seeking a motivated individual to join a dynamic and energetic team. As the Rental / Counter Clerk, the successful candidate plays a key role in meeting the needs of a diverse customer base through the provision of exceptional customer service while focusing on accurate and efficient processing of paperwork. The Rental / Counter Clerk is responsible for a variety of tasks including customer relations, in-branch EQUIPMENT RENTALs and merchandise sales, and equipment presentation.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Process rental quotations, reservations, contracts, and invoices in complete compliance with company policies and procedures
· Establish new rental and sales accounts by serving walk-in and phone-in customers.
· Negotiate prices on EQUIPMENT RENTALs and contractor supplies in compliance with company pricing policies.
· Check out and demonstrate equipment for customers and educate customers about proper equipment use.
· Co-ordinate and track daily equipment deliveries and pick-ups, dispatch delivery trucks and manage customer expectations regarding delivery / pick-up service.
· Maintain a clean and presentable showroom, ensure sufficient stock is displayed and properly priced.
· Assist with Accounts Receivable calls for cash accounts.
· Monitor supplies and inform Administrative Clerk when/if supplies are needed.
· Assist customers with the loading and unloading of rental equipment as required.
· Provide exceptional customer service.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the following qualifications and skills:
· Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
· Demonstrated ability to organize and independently manage workload with the flexibility required to account for changing priorities, tight deadlines, volume of work, and available resources.
· Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required, strong computer and typing skills, knowledge of Texada / Systematic software is an asset.
· Knowledge of construction equipment and industry is an asset; sales experience is an asset.
· Proven track record of strong attention to detail and safety.
· Pleasant and calm demeanor with a proven ability to work under pressure and manage conflict appropriately.
· Punctual, reliable, and personable.
Working Conditions:
· Frequent lifting up to 10lbs., occasional lifting up to 25lbs., seldom lifting up to 50lbs.
· Exposure to bright light, loud noise, dust, gas, or fumes.
· Activities requiring handling and grasping with the hands when restocking shelves, unloading equipment, and demonstrating equipment use.
· Ability to bend, kneel, and work with arms raised for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 4 hours per day.
MONDAY TO FRIDAY - NO WEEKENDS!
