Executive Assistant – Land & Resources Department
Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi’it (Tobacco Plains Band) is a rural First Nations community located near Grasmere BC in one of the most beautiful and natural parts of British Columbia. We are currently seeking a highly skilled, well organized Executive Assistant for our Land and Resources Department.
Responsibilities Include:
- The Executive Assistant (EA) is responsible for providing high level executive support to the Director, Lands and Resources.
- Maintains awareness of all department functions, goals, deadlines and priorities.
- Coordinates external and internal meetings and provides related documents, correspondence and files required for the meetings.
- Prepares correspondence, speaking notes, and develops media releases. • Organizes travel plans and accommodations.
- Acts as initial point of contact for the Director, receiving, screening, prioritizing and organizing emails and phone calls to ensure timely informed attention to issues, opportunities and requirements.
- Organizes and maintains office files, meetings, schedules, budget information and reports to ensure the smooth operation of the department. • Is responsible for document management within the department.
- Undertakes research and assists with the development of funding proposals, reports and communications.
- Maintains strict confidentiality and handle situations with tact and diplomacy. • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Business Administration Diploma or equivalent.
Working knowledge of forestry and/or mining industries preferred.
Minimum of five years of experience within an office administration environment
Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher
Well organized
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent inter-personal skills
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Knowledge of traditional lands.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
