Reporting to the Supervisor, Facilities and Property, this position performs all aspects of work related to the day-to-day operations, including winter and summer maintenance of municipal buildings and facilities under the jurisdiction of the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department.
How you contribute to our organization:
- Maintain the multi-plex spaces and other Town owned facilities through minor repairs, painting, snow removal at entrances, opening and closing of facilities, disinfecting and general cleaning.
- Participate in Arena Ice Making and Maintenance of Ice Surfaces.
- Perform pool operations duties including opening and winterization, chemical balancing, cleaning and maintains records according to health legislation.
- Oversee facilities when rented providing service to the public who have rented it.
- Perform maintenance checks on any mobile equipment. Keep all equipment clean and in good working order.
What you bring to the team:
- Requires Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
- Requires ORFA Basic Refrigeration or equivalent.
- Requires ORFA Certified Pool Operator or equivalent.
- Requires a G Class driver’s licence, and ability to provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
- Requires Standard First Aid with CPR-C.
- Requires at least 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
Wage: $27.75 - $33.49, plus 4% vacation pay and optional enrolment in OMERS pension plan
Hours: up to 40 hours per week – Facility operations are 5:30 a.m. to 12 a.m., 7 days a week – shifts will vary
Location: Primarily New Tecumseth Recreation Centre (NTRC) and Alliston Memorial Arena (AMA)
Dates: 6 months – April/May – October/November 2024
