Freelance Business Development Consultant – Homebased – North America and Canada

Upsilon Global are working with a number of Contract Research Organisations to help them identify freelance Business Development Managers across North America and Canada.
The CRO market is seeing a shift in culture for Business Development, with more and more companies seeking specialist Business Development Consultants to help them with targeted prospecting and lead generation based on specific objectives.
With your networks are amongst sponsors, biotechs and medical device developers, are partners will be interested in speaking with you to understand how you could connect them and their specialist services with the right partners.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Prospect accounts focusing on products and services
- Identify and develop new prospects and leads
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with key target clients
- Manage client pipeline to generate new and repeatable business
- Initiate and manage RFI and RFP process and work with SLT to negotiate terms for all account programs and projects
Job Experience:
- Must demonstrate a sustained and successful track record selling professional services to Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Medical Device, and/or Clinical Research Organisations
- Demonstrated track record of success working with senior level management in a fast-paced growth environment is essential
- Full sales cycle experience is required: Prospect, Identify Opportunities, Propose Solutions (writing proposals), Negotiate, Close
- Strong written and verbal English skills, quality-oriented proposal writing and proposal management experience
- Experience working in a small commercial team/small CRO is beneficial
- Ambitious, driven and self-motivated personality adaptable to a fast-paced high volume and high velocity sales organisation
- Bachelor’s degree or higher required
