Job Description
The Fund Development Coordinator organizes, markets, supports and executes a calendar of fundraising and awareness events for Lymphoma Canada(LC). Managing and overseeing our signature events and supporting third-party events will be an integral part of the position. Staff and volunteers will count on you for support at awareness events across Canada including our two national conferences (Toronto and Montreal).
Events
· S/he will serve as a passionate ambassador for LC, engaging new volunteers, families, event participants, and new organizations.
· Performs event administration including the development of plans, critical paths, meeting minutes, report updates, budgets, stewardship/recognition, constituent communications, nametags for each event.
· Obtains proposals or quotes and negotiates best prices and delivery rates and times for events
· Support all third-party fundraising events and activities which include community organizations and signature events
· Attend events as necessary, be the Lymphoma Canada representative on the ground, speaking with donors and ensuring the organization is well represented. Problem solve, and troubleshoot at events to ensure seamless delivery
· Respond to inquiries and guide third-party fundraiser hosts through the necessary steps to complete successful fundraisers
· Coordinates post-event activities including payment follow-up, event evaluation forms, stewardship, etc. working closely with the Fund Development staff.
Marketing & Fundraising
· Where appropriate, send materials, set up regular phone calls, create donation pages, and provide other support as necessary
· Collaborates with Regional Directors to implement innovative communications / promotional strategies including social media, e-communications, and targeted marketing
· Maintain an effective donor & volunteer portfolio
· Manage event committees, providing regular communications to motivate and inspire volunteers
· Review printed and digital copy for accuracy and consistency
Database Management & Operations
· Provide support as needed in tax receipting, thank you calls, and maintenance of accurate information in RE database
· Maintain accurate budget and revenue report for each event for planning and budgeting purposes
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
· University degree, college diploma or equivalent combination of education and related experience, including fundraising certification and other relevant post-graduate studies.
· 2-3 years of experience in fundraising and/or sales & events
· Strong written and oral communication skills to successfully interact with external stakeholders and staff within the organization
· Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, mail merges) and online search engines.
· Experience with fundraising databases, such as the Raiser’s Edge is an asset.
· Experience working with volunteers related to special events
· Self-starter, capable of identifying the need for and taking independent action
· Experience managing social media campaigns
· Ability to work both in a team environment as well as independently
· Vehicle required for travel
Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: $39,000.00-$46,000.00 per year
