In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for supporting the Land Development team with coordinating, researching, discovering, source tracking and processing information.
- Support the Manager, Land Development in day to day project management of files at various stages of the development lifecycle, from acquisition through to registration and assumption.
- Obtain development approvals in property acquisition, subdivision, zoning, condominium, site plan approvals and building permits.
- Assist with the submission of development approval applications, including Official Plan Amendment, Plan of Subdivision, Zoning By-law Amendment, Committee of Adjustment and Condominium applications.
- Assist in preparation of property research, such as Planning reviews (Official Plan, Zoning, and urban design), Ontario Land Tribunal decisions, Heritage Status, parkland dedication.
- Liaison with internal departments for project status updates.
- Be responsible for project reporting, including monthly/quarterly budget and schedule updates.
- Prepare financial analysis including proforma financial modeling of scenarios to aid management in evaluating various real estate decisions.
- Review, track and provide updates on overall project budgets with each functional group to facilitate performance monitoring and forecasting.
- Assist with the Clearance of Conditions of Draft approval including coordination of consulting team undertaking detailed engineering design.
- Assist in the preparation of legal documentation relating to development applications/agreement, condominium documents, consultant contracts, and other areas as required.
- Assist in preparation of reports on relevant industry issues as well as project related issues at City Council, Community Council, Committees of Council and Public Meetings and take actions on findings.
- Conduct and attend site visits, as required.
We would like you to have:
- Education: Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering, Land Use Planning, or related field.
- Experience: One (1) to Two (2) years of previous residential Land Development experience.
- Specialized Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook, MS Project)
- Working knowledge with AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Organizational and time management skills with ability to meet structured deadlines
- Analytical, research and report writing skills
- Knowledge of development process preferred
