Operation Friendship Seniors Society offers services without judgment to improve the quality of life for seniors in need over 55 years of age.
What you will be doing:
- Be familiar with and supportive of the mission statement and values of Operation Friendship Seniors Society.
- Follow all policies and procedures as defined by Operation Friendship Seniors Society.
- Provide information, referral, and advocacy services.
- Respond to referrals and conduct a follow-up to ensure appropriate services are in place.
- Assess what services are required for seniors.
- Reach out to the community to find seniors in need.
- Maintain a caseload of seniors needing ongoing support and assistance.
- Maintain client files as per established guidelines.
- Adhere to the Social Work Code of Ethics.
- Chair monthly tenant meetings in all Operation Friendship Seniors Society buildings.
- Participate in the development and evaluation of the Geriatric Community Support program.
- Participate in inter agency initiatives.
- Attend all Agency staff/team meetings and other meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Client Services Manager.
What you will bring to the role:
- Social Work Post Secondary Diploma/Degree required.
- Have a current registration with the provincial college of Social Workers or be in the process of attaining such registration.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Experience working with seniors or advocating issues for seniors preferred. Supervisor and/or leadership development.

- Superior planning and organizing skills.
- A diplomatic negotiator and facilitator.

Physical requirements:
· Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.
· Bending, kneeling, reaching and twisting are frequently required movements.
· Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks with upper and lower body extremities.
Background check process & requirements:
· As part of the selection process, Operation Friendship will conduct reference checks with your most recent employers.
· Police information check- vulnerable sector (within the last 6 months)
· Registration with a professional body (ACSW)
· Professional liability insurance.

Compensations:
· $51,451 - $57,949 annually
· 35 hours work per week.
· Group benefit plan
· 3 to 6 weeks’ vacation
· Mileage compensation

Work location: 10310 93 St (Travel between various OF sites is required) mileage paid.
