Job Description Summary
Working closely with and reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Health & Safety Administrator will play a key role in overseeing Pro Reefer’s Health and Safety culture and programs.
Essential Responsibilities
Participate in and act as the Secretary for the organizations Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) including preparing agendas, record, document and distribute minutes and supporting documents as well as act as the steward of this information.
Assist managers with investigating accidents, injuries and near-miss incidents, and developing corrective and preventive action responses.
Prepare and submit all required safety reports as needed (e.g. statistics on incidents injuries and WSIB, WCB and CNESST claims).
Perform workplace inspections.
Coordinate/complete fire equipment maintenance and testing of equipment.
Track all required safety and orientations for staff as determined by the organization and legislation.
Monitor and update portals such as ISN and Cognibox.
Investigating/recording incidents, accidents, complaints, and cases of ill health.
Undertaking risk assessments and site inspections, identifying potential hazards.
Participate in the design, development and delivery of H&S policies and programs and perform annual reviews and update accordingly.
Providing Health and Safety meetings and training courses for employees.
Keeping up to date and ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety legislation
Maintain SDS (Safety Data Sheets)
Prepare, implement and review office and project emergency response plans.

Requirements
-High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
-minimum 2 years experience
-JHSC Certification
-Experience in the heavy truck/trailer repair and maintenance sector or similar/parallel industries is an asset.
