Health & Safety Coordinator (Permanent)

What You Will Be Doing, as a Health & Safety Coordinator:
· Maintain Records in the Online System for Vehicle Maintenance, Training Records. Equipment Maintenance
· Monitor and Schedule Annual Inspections when due
· Monitor Vehicles and schedule maintenance, repairs and Annual inspections
· Monitor Company wide training and make sure that all training remains up to date
· Monitor and schedule In Class Training as required.
· Monitor Non-Conformity items and ensure a timely response to correct the issues.
· Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual Safety reports as required.
· Investigate all accident, incidents and near misses
· Participate in the JHSC
· Visit sites regularly to ensure compliance with our company policies and procedures
· Review all Health and Safety Management System Documentation and ensure that they are updated at least annually.
· Create and maintain Site Binders, Vehicle Binders, Site Health and Safety Boards and Office Health and Safety Boards
· Prepare Internal and External Audits
· Ensures fulfillment of H&S requirements at construction site, following health, safety, and environmental (H&S) plan in compliance with Company standards, customer requirements and Government regulations
· Helps in the implementation and update of the health, safety, and environmental plan
· Helps in identification of risks and definition of control measures (through safe work procedure, Job Safety Analysis)
· Coordinates safety committee
· Records and investigates accidents and incidents; performs Root Cause Analysis on H&S issues
· Coordinates health, safety, and environmental aspects of site activities
· Proposes immediate correction of an H&S deficiency; checks if H&S corrections from deficiency are effective
· Coordinates with Workers Compensation as required
What You Should Have, as a Health & Safety Coordinator:
· Proven experience as Safety Coordinator
· Must have a BSc/BA or Post-Secondary in Health and Safety
· Five years of H&S related field experience
· Valid qualification in occupational Health and Safety
· Must have a strong understanding of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation and implementation in a construction environment.
· Must have a thorough understanding of Certificate of Recognition (COR) processes
· Must be proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
· Must have strong organization and record keeping skills
· Must have a Valid Class G Driver's License
· Deep understanding of legal Health and Safety guidelines
· Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
· Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
· Excellent organizational and motivational skills
· Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
· COR Essentials
· COR Internal Auditor
· Basic Auditing Principles
· Introduction to Hazard and Risk Management
· Familiarity with IHSA’s Certificate of Recognition Program (COR®) 2020
· Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, and Windows Applications
