Health & Safety Coordinator (65K-70K)

Canadian Executive Search Group (USA), a division of Arrow Workforce Solutions has an immediate opening for a Health & Safety Coordinator for a leading engineering consultation firm in the Oshawa, Ontario area.

Location: Oshawa, Ontario
Shifts: DAY & NIGHT - OT after 45 HRS - 6 DAYS PER WEEK
Start: Hiring Immediately
Compensation: $65K-$70K Base + Benefits PACKAGE
Job Description:
As a Health & Safety Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace for all employees.
Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and ensure compliance with applicable legislation related to OH&S Act, Regulations, MOL, WSIB, and Employment Standards
• Assist departments to improve and enhance their safety and training programs
• Focus on preventing accidents, incidents, and injuries
• Ensure employee training is up to date and maintain all training records
• Maintain absolute confidentiality and remain impartial
• Assist in developing and implementing occupational health and safety programs, policies, procedures, and processes
• Advise all levels of management, Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), and employees on Health and Safety issues
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and government regulations
• Administer WSIB claims management and the return-to-work program
• Assess safety training needs and provide training to employees
• Issue Certification Licenses and maintain accurate training records
• Conduct new hire orientations
• Review incident reports and provide assistance with corrective actions
• Coach/Train operations on incident trends and goals
• Perform Risk Assessments and assist in implementing countermeasures
• Coordinate fire drills and ensure Emergency Procedures are up to date

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Health and Safety field
• Certification in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g., Canadian Registered Safety Professional or equivalent).
• Experience in health and safety coordination within a manufacturing or automotive environment in Canada is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial safety regulations.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must pass company medical examination
