Our location in Woodstock, ON, currently has an opportunity for the position of Health & Safety Maintenance Specialist under the direction and support of the Management team, will be responsible for championing the company’s Occupational Safety Program. These programs include OHSMS, TBP investigation, Cority documentation as well as all Global Standards requirements. In addition, this individual will be required to maintain the sub assembly equipment as well as participate in light maintenance of the Woodstock facility. This position must promote a positive safety culture while monitoring safe work practices in effort to minimize accidents and injuries throughout the facility. The Health and Safety/ Maintenance Specialist must lead by example to achieve and exceed results.

Job Functions/Duties:
- Maintain awareness and implement amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations
- Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, risk assessments, safe work procedures, written reports, and recommendations.
- Maintain the OHSMS and Global Standards Safety elements and all documentation required.
- Conduct safety training to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate inspections, investigations, and occupational safety activities with leadership
- Direct and review the analysis of accident and injury data, identifying the needs for new or modified occupational safety programs.
- Maintain updates to the BBO program while ensuring constant compliance with program requirements.
- Maintain PM program for all sub assembly machines.
- Support machine breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Minor building and ground maintenance.
- Direct the forklift training program.
- Identify kaizen opportunities including cost, safety, and time savings.
- Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
- Safety certification training, CRSP is considered a strong asset.
- Forklift Licensed
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently while prioritizing tasks.
- Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
Work Conditions:
- Physical ability to lift 25lbs.
- Travel as necessary.
- Overtime as required.
