Hr Coordinator

***$2500 Signing Bonus after 90 days of employment ***

Perhaps you have already seen this posting and wonder why it is still up? We are a dynamic company, our world is blue collar, we operate 24/7 so there are times that HR will flex their schedule to flip burgers with the graveyard team, (it is great fun), or spend the day working in Nanaimo or Richmond so we get to connect with our staff who we rarely see. Does it happen often, no but from time to time, it does. This position does dabble in all aspects of HR, so our days are never dull.

Here are the normal HR tasks:

• Full cycle recruitment: job posting to onboarding and everything in between.
• Group benefit administration
• Bi-weekly payroll

Now here is the good stuff:

• OH&S
• Policy development
• Performance management
• Injury and illness management – facilitating safe and appropriate return-to-work plans
• Special projects, such as event planning, clothing orders
• Eradicating cringy corporate speak one phrase at a time. You know what we are talking about: take this offline, low hanging fruit and deep dives.
• If this isn't enough to make you excited to come to work, you will also learn about the logistics and grocery life. It doesn't get better than that.

Now let's park all that in the parking lot and circle back to what else you really want to know. Yes, this is a hybrid position or a 4 day work week!

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience; the right combination of experience and education may be considered - payroll would be an asset.
• Demonstrate in your resume/cover letter how your experience is relevant
• Strong understanding of BC Employment Standards
• Critical thinking abilities with strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Value accountability, integrity and confidentiality
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills
• Valid Class 5 license and able to travel for day trips to Cassidy and Richmond, as required;
• CPHR designation, desirable;
