ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, The HR Coordinator will assist AGJV leaders across the LNG Canada site in Kitimat, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the Human Resources department including but not limited to tasks related to progressive discipline, Union interactions, personnel records, data management, policy compliance, company benefits, payroll assistance and onboarding.

KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Responsible for delivering and maintaining high standards of work whilst carrying out the duties of this role in line with Company Values to achieve long-term success
  • Maintains personnel records, updates databases, and creates guidelines Implementing policies and procedures and systems that comply with local laws and ensure fair treatment of our employees
  • Maintaining physical and digital personnel records like employment contracts and PTO requests

MAIN ACTIVITIES

  • Ensure compliance with Altrad policies, statutory obligations, and industry regulations
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, aligning individual goals with Altrad's organizational objectives
  • Organize and maintain accurate personnel records, and other relevant information
  • Prepare HR documents, including employment contracts
  • Liaise with external partners, ensuring legal compliance and effective vendor relationships
  • Generate regular reports and presentations on HR metrics (i.e. headcount and turnover rates)
  • Assist payroll department by providing relevant employee information (i.e. leaves of absence, sick days, and work schedules)
  • Actively participate in HR projects, contributing to the success of initiatives such as local job fairs
  • Embrace and support change within the Altrad HR department and the Organization
  • Collaborate with the Union to ensure adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, involving tasks such as interpreting the agreement, implementing progressive discipline, conducting incident investigations, and liaising with payroll for discrepancy resolution
  • Facilitate onboarding during the orientation process
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in an HR capacity
  • Experience in Construction Industry is an asset
  • Working knowledge of HR best practices and regulations
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential. [BR1] Working knowledge of other Office 365 products and the ability to easily learn new software programs
  • Exceptional attention to detail is required
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and move projects forward with minimal supervision
  • Proven self-starter with strong sense of accountability and problem-solving skills
  • Strong code of ethics, integrity, and teamwork
  • Shows tact, diplomacy, and discretion in handling information of confidential and/or sensitive nature
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis

Please note this is a site based, fly in fly out position working on a rotation of 14 days on followed by 7 days off.
