The Avon Maitland District School Board is accepting applications for a full-time permanent 1.0FTE Human Resource Analystposition, available immediately at the Education Centre in Seaforth, Ontario.
The successful candidate will lead, under the supervision of the HRS Department Management, in all aspects of job evaluation, job design, pay equity as well as oversee the maintenance and system administration of the Board’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and Payroll systems and related reporting and analysis requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the job design and documentation of unionized and non-unionized jobs and evaluation of jobs applying a point factor job evaluation plan;
- Manage the process for existing and newly created positions by preparing/revising/updating job descriptions and conduct job audits where necessary; Analyze and evaluate job classifications, making consistent and objective recommendations/ decisions on complex and contentious issues; Responsible for the documentation and maintenance of job evaluation information, job descriptions and organizational charts in order to ensure history and context is maintained; Determine extent of changes to existing jobs, impact on and relationship to other jobs, whether changes would impact on job evaluation, etc.; Facilitate and participate on joint bargaining unit job evaluation committees as well as steering committees; Liaise with external job evaluation and legal advisory consultant(s) as needed; Facilitate the resolution of issues and complaints/appeals with respect to job content and job evaluation results Act as a resource for AMDSB at Pay Equity hearings/tribunals and participate as required on internal committees; Complete ad-hoc projects, including researching and analyzing data, organizing the data into meaningful documentation and presentation material, making appropriate recommendations; Participate in compensation surveys; Maintain all aspects of administering the HRIS including but not limited to involvement in system upgrades, maintaining system parameters, configurations and software master files, including creating reports using Access/Excel for the extraction and analysis of data, and resolving application issues; Act as a resource to assist HRS staff in resolving HRIS and system issues; Test new versions of system software, identify potential problems and make recommended solutions prior to implementation, including the coordination of system updates; Participate in scheduling the cycles of activity, consolidation of submissions and preparation of required reports inherent in the payroll processes; Create and analyze various reports/surveys from the HRS/Payroll systems data for internal and external audiences; Develop reports for internal use and review existing reports to identify and resolve errors indicated on the system generated reports and look for improvement opportunities; Provide recommendations to enhance systems/procedures for payroll/HRIS to improve workflow efficiencies; Other duties or projects as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent
- Minimum three (3) years of progressive Human Resources experience in a unionized and non- unionized environment working with multiple union
- Demonstrated proficiency with technology and advanced computer applications including an integrated HR/Payroll system, Excel, Access, Word, etc.
- Advanced analytical skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; Demonstrated integrity and credibility in dealing with confidential/sensitive information; Analytical, problem-solving and planning skills with an ability to work independently.
This is a full-time permanent 12-month salaried position governed by the Terms and Conditions of Employment for Non-Union, Management, Administrative and Supervisory Employees.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, 12 months per year
Rate of Pay: $63,783 - $74,276 per Level 5 in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Employment for Non-Union, Management, Administrative and Supervisory Employees
