What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:- Support a range of sensitive business, Human Resources, and labour relations initiatives, including the interpretation of policies and information
- Support workforce planning by assessing workforce and workplace implications including human capital needs and various data-driven assessments
- Develops the overall ministry roll-out and messaging of plans, monitoring, evaluation and ensuring effective communication and linkages between divisional/organizational units and other HR areas
- Provides functional support to more senior branch colleagues on large scope, more complex initiatives/projects, participating in working groups, project teams, and through individual file leadership
How do I qualify?
Knowledge
You have:- Knowledge of Human Resources theories, principles and practices, and relevant legislation, along with strategic HR management, organizational design, change management, employee engagement, talent management and learning and development to provide a range of consultative, research, project management and program implementation support services
Communication and Relationship Management Skills:
- You have well-developed communication skills to create a variety of written materials and deliver presentations to a variety of audiences in a clear and concise manner.
- You have demonstrated experience preparing decision and issues papers, briefing notes and research reports.
- You can develop and maintain effective business partnerships with management, program staff, clients and other stakeholders.
Analytical, Organizational and Project Management Skills:
- You have strong research and analytical skills to review and analyze various business and Human Resources issues and can identify and develop options and prepare recommendations and reports.
- You have demonstrated political acuity and discretion to deal with highly sensitive or confidential information and the ability to exercise good judgement.
- You have superior time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and within competing timeframes to ensure high quality and timeliness.
- You are highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- You are able to plan and organize issues, initiatives and projects.
Technical Skills:
- You have experience and skill in using various software applications (e.g. Visio, PowerPoint, Word, internet), spreadsheets (e.g. Excel), HR information systems and databases to research, retrieve, review, analyze, and draw conclusions from employee, position and workforce data, to prepare evidence-based summaries and reports that support informed decision-making.
