About the Role
The Senior Human Resources Generalist will provide leadership and support to all departments and employees in the attainment of company goals related to the development and maintenance of positive employee relations. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will also address issues related to strategic planning, sourcing and development for training programs.
Your Responsibilities
Employee Relations
• Ensure all aspects of the Employee Charter are followed throughout the division.
• Participate in the review, enhancement and development of all employment policy.
• Participate in the communication of company policy to all department managers, supervisors and employees with the specific goals of consistent understanding and application.
• Provide support to managers and supervisors to ensure proper and consistent interpretation and application of company policies.
• Provide support to all employees to ensure that concerns and questions are heard, understood and responded to in a professional, efficient manner.
• Ensure that a proper level of support and access is maintained for off-shift employees.
• Consult on issues related to employee discipline.
• Advise on matters relating to Employment Standards, Human Rights, Labour Relations.
• Remain current with all relevant legislative changes as well as current legal interpretations.
• Conduct exit interviews to improve the working conditions within the company.
• Coordinate and facilitate Coffee Chats with Senior Management once per month.
• Coordinate and manage Service Awards
Employee Data Base Management
• Maintenance of a complete and accurate employee database including the addition of new employees, deletion of terminated employees, status changes (pay and otherwise), and any other required information changes and employee communication.
Employee Benefits Administration
• Management of all salary & hourly benefits including the addition of new employees, deletion of terminated employees and direct employee communication.
• Regular contact/monitoring of employees on LOA to ensure listing is current.
• Participate in return to work planning for non-occupational claims.
Payroll, Time & Attendance
• Ensure that hourly payroll goals are being achieved.
• Ensure that all time and attendance goals are being achieved.
• Generate specific attendance printouts on individual employees and provide analysis as required.
• Backup for salary payroll
Training & Development
• Assist in training activity from the identification of training needs, design and delivery of programs (where required) to the establishment/maintenance of a data base to ensure a consolidated, corporate approach to training.
• Conduct orientation training as required – facilitate onboarding process for all positions.
• Maintain training matrix, annual budget and departmental planning with all managers.
• Coordinate H&S Training to maintain compliance.
• Coordinate MAFACT training requirements.
• Maintain PeopleNet+ training database.
General
• Monitor and maintain all posting boards in the plants.
• Ensure compliance with defined Business Management and Environmental Management Systems requirements.
• Provide support for the continuous improvement initiatives within Techform.
• Provide support in the attainment of Techform's operating system goals as outlined be the key graphs.
• Carry out all duties focusing on the goal of internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
