Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Human Resources Specialist is responsible for recruiting employees, creating and maintaining workplace policies and procedures, administering performance management and reviews, and terminating employees. This role will work closely with the SIRKit leadership team to develop and execute HR strategies focused on talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide employee relations support in the areas of performance management, progressive discipline, employment legislation, policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
· Facilitate a positive and engaging onboarding and orientation experience for new employees and coordinate relevant training.
· Facilitate and/or deliver internal training programs as required
· Work with employees to ensure they are achieving their training goals.
· Maintain SIRKit’s Handbook and Accountability Chart.
· Maintain assigned equipment lists in our HR platform
· Update and maintain Human Resources processes and procedures.
· Assist leadership with annual reviews.
· Manage the recruitment process, creating job descriptions, posting jobs on various recruitment platforms, developing candidate selection criteria, pre-screening, conducting interviews with hiring manager, reference checks, and security checks.
· Participate in job fairs and college recruitment events and activities.
· Plan and coordinate new employee orientation and training sessions.
· Manage 30-day and 90-day new hire surveys and reporting.
· Support benefits and leave administration programs, including short-term disability, workers’ compensation, and personal leaves.
· Draft progressive disciplinary letters for managers, working with them to ensure that they accurately reflect the circumstances and assist with policy development as required.
· Assist with employee engagement initiatives.
· Conduct exit interviews when required.
· Provide support on special projects and initiatives.
· Maintain corporate culture of excellence and enforce company's core values.
Qualifications/Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field.
· 3+ years Human Resources experience.
· CPHR designation is an asset, but not required.
· Experienced working with a technology company is an asset.
· A combination of education and relevant work experience considered in lieu of the above requirements
Skills/Abilities
· Exceptional verbal, listening and written communications skills are required to communicate clearly with clients and staff
· Ability to convey HR concepts and terms in a non-technical, clear, concise, effective and easily understandable manner to our staff and leadership.
· Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently
· Ability to deal with conflict situations while remaining calm and obtaining positive results
· Superior organizational and problem-solving skills
· Solid business acumen and ability to respond to situations with astuteness and composure
· Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office and other SIRKit software applications

Salary: $55,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
