Human Resources Intern - Summer 2024

Location: 15 Marmac Dr, M9W 1E7 (Hybrid Role)

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide support on a variety of ongoing or new HR projects and initiatives - May include the development of company job description creation/updates, policies and procedures development, and outlining company benefits within the orientation procedure for New Hires
• Assist Talent Acquisition and Human Resources Business Partners with the recruitment process - Screen resumes and application forms, schedule interviews and conduct reference checks for final candidates
• Perform administrative tasks such as employee filing, updating Human Resources bulletin boards and organizing online Human Resources SharePoint structure
• Attend weekly Human Resources meetings when necessary and requested, providing updates on the status of projects and initiatives
• Follow company’s health and safety program, rules and procedures and work in compliance with health and safety-related legislation and codes
• Report all incidents, injuries, illnesses, and near misses to your Supervisor
• Use or wear safety equipment and personal protective equipment required by the company
• Report to supervisor any hazardous or unsafe conditions, absence or defects in equipment and any contravention of health and safety legislation

Qualifications:

• Minimum - Currently enrolled in a Human Resources Management or a related post-secondary program
• Minimum - Previous experience learning Human Resources concepts in an educational institution
• Preferred - Previous experience working within a HR department, preferably within the manufacturing industry
• Preferred - Working towards CHRP designation

Skills / Highlights:

• Experience with MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)
• Basic knowledge of Human Resources programs and policies
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and project management skills
• Must be able to meet project deadlines, with good sense of urgency and follow through
• Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision
